Chalcroft Telecommunications Division was established in March 1999 initially working for National Grid Wireless in the Southeast of England. The Division grew rapidly taking on new clients including Arqiva and Three. The division has established a very strong reputation in building sites quickly, to budget and on time.

Today the Division continues to perform to all client expectations with the advantage of a large in house civils capability, bolstered by a forward thinking Project Management team and innovative Design Department.

We are able to offer our existing and future clients a full “turnkey” solution from and Acquisition through to Design and Build.

The team is always looking for new challenging projects.

Installation to side of Transco Gas compound and involved a tower extension, new Vodafone cabinet base and power from existing multi-user meter cabinet.

This building, at over 130m high, presented a challenging design for Chalcroft.

The prohibitive cost of a crane lift to the roof meant that the design needed to incorporate lightweight components that could be manually carried to the roof.

A complex cable tray route also had to be designed through a congested plant room.

Chalcroft designed the installation of antennas and microwave dishes for Vodafone, H3G and Siemens on this landmark tower.

Extensive surveys by our riggers were required to identify the mounting locations and fixing details to the tower structure.

Operator’s antenna and dish bearings had to be accommodated without interference to existing radio equipment on the tower.

Chalcroft are experienced in the design and installation of telecommunications base stations on pylon sites.

Certified/competent NSI4 and G3 operatives installed a face frame, compound and power complying with G78 legislation.

The site was in a flood plain area which required the steelwork to be raised 600mm above ground level.
